You are so kind to take it in. Bless you! The poor pup looks emciated and needs to be taken to a vet asap to check for a chip and possibly given fluids and care. If you explain the situation, you most likely will not be charged and/or referred to a charitable organization for it's care.

Most pets found close by, post flyers, knock On neighbors doors up & down your street, hopefully find owners or someone who recognizes pet & knows where it lives
