Joy Perry Rogers you cannot send to a rescue until you've tried everything. OK Humane will scan for chip and post him. Hopefully Chipped.

Please don't give the dog to a stranger unless they are local animal control, a reputable nonprofit animal rescue that follows stray laws, or the rightful owner (ask them to show proof of ownership), otherwise the owner may never see their fur baby again. There are many people that will offer to take the dog that have no intention of searching for the owner, as the law requires. Can you post on nextdoor & put up flyers? The owner may be elderly, or might not be on social media. Hopefully the dog is microchipped. Please file a found report at the nearest shelter.
