The best thing you can do is makeup a whole lot of flyers
And distribute them to your neighbors asking them to keep a lookout for the cat. The cat will rarely come out of hiding.
So you need to keep quiet, speaking softly. The cat is hunkered down and will be hiding in bushes, or under a porch. Please check often that your cat is not accidentally locked in someone’s shed, or garage because you will not even realize that the cat is in there. Ask neighbors to keep a brick between the door so the cat can come out. I have often heard the owner never knew there cat was in their car was inside the shed and the shed door was locked. At least put a bowl of water out. Your cat needs water! My daughters cat was lost for 32 days and wanted know some. Her cat was hiding right next door in bushes right by their house and a little girl told her mommy that she saw an orange cat outside. Yeah, even children can be most helpful because adults are working, cleaning, preparing meals.
My daughter was lucky, but her cat never subQ fluids, was loaded with flea dirt, and fleas biting it all over. Her cat was so lethargic, dehydrated, and sickly, cat zero energy. 32 days outside in the summer. This was 15 years ago, and I’m telling people our story so there is hope to find any lost cat. The cat is in your neighborhood, not far from your home. Talk to neighbors, the moms and dads tell your children about the missing cat, they are your extra pair of eyes looking.
