FOUND DOG: Is anyone missing this sweet girl? She showed up on our property without a collar and, unbeknownst to us, probably had been trying to survive in our backwoods for some time. When she appeared at the edge of the back pasture my husband was mowing, she seemed very lethargic and was clearly asking for help. Upon closer inspection, it was obvious she very recently had puppies, but they were out of sight. We eventually found the puppies (not pictured) in the woods and moved everyone to our shed last night. Rather than let her and the puppies die, we're trying to do the right thing and care for them until we find her owner or a place that can foster them. With steady food & water the past few days, she seems to be coming around. It would be awesome if she IS someone's missing pet, but I couldn't find a matching "MISSING/LOST PET" Facebook post or on Pawboost.com, so she may have been dumped. We also reached out to Smith County Animal Shelter and were referred to local rescues for assistance but have not heard back. Please leave a comment if you have info to help us finder her owner or are able to take over fostering this momma and her babies.
