Message from Owner

Please help me find my cat Ripley. She’s an adult cat but small for age. She’s indoor/outdoor, and is always waiting at the door for me in the morning if out at night. I walked around the neighborhood for 2hours and could not find her. Please help..

Catherine Schlegel Mackleworth I have not found Ripley. I don’t think this is her, but maybe I need another picture to see better.

Most cats stay fairly close to home when they get out so chances are high your cat is on your property or somewhere on your block, most likely three or four houses away. Search at night with a flashlight because the eyes will glow. Cats sometimes get stuck up in trees and can't get down so check there. Also check inside and under places he might be stuck or hiding such as sheds, barns, garages, crawl spaces, decks. Talk to your neighbors, put up missing cat posters up to a half a mile away, post on all local social media, and make sure to check with animal control weekly. Some people have had luck by putting something with the cat's smell, or the scent of home, out on the porch. Sometimes people also have luck finding their cat by walking around at dawn carrying an open can of tuna or smelly canned cat food.

Curious cats can get trapped in sheds, garages and outbuildings; ask neighbors, in a 5 house radius, for permission to look in those areas. Look up in trees; she may have been chased.
