Flyers are very important. They are best put in a gallon zip bag upside down to protect from the elements. It was just last week that both the dog and a cat were reunited by flyers alone since the finders did not have social media. If you adopted from a rescue, they usually like to know ASAP that a former animal is missing. If your cat has a microchip, it's good to make sure your contact information is up to date so you can be contacted. If your cat is found. Cats tend to stay close to home before they wander so time is of the essence. Make sure your cat did not get in your garage in a closet in a dresser drawer or behind furniture which often happens. When I leave my house I back my body out of the house and watch to ensure that no cat wants to escape. When I go to my garage from my house. I do not open my garage door until I know the house door is secured. When I return home. I do not open the house door until I know the garage door is totally down which works great! It's a good idea to look down your block. Add dusk and dawn with a flashlight to hopefully catch a glimpse of your cat's eyes. If it is nearby. Make sure you check animal control in person daily and any local rescues or shelters that might have gotten your cat. Wishing a quick and safe return......
