She is a light-colored cat with beautiful blue eyes and darker markings on her face, ears, paws, and tail

Message from Owner

She was staying at my friend’s place near Préfontaine Metro Station when she escaped. Nairobi is very shy and easily scared, so she is most likely hiding somewhere nearby. Calling her by her nickname might help, it’s Nai Nai Please check under balconies, porches, decks, garages, sheds, bushes, stairwells, or any place where a frightened cat might hide. I am currently overseas and feeling completely helpless. I need the community’s help to find my little baby.

Is she microchipped? Probably not far. Check all sheds, garages, under porches around: could be stuck. Crucial to keep going out each night and early in the mornings, calling and shaking the treats/kibble bag. There's controversy over putting out litter but I know people who do. Put his/her used litter box outside on the balcony/front porch/outside where you think she got out, for him/her to smell and reorient herself home. Also put out some of your old used clothing with your smell on it for the same reason. Check the sheds and garages in the area. When it gets dark outside, go outside and shake a box of treats while calling his/her name; call in a very high and calm voice, every quarter of an hour or twenty minutes, for a full 5 minutes, and do this every half hour minimum, for a minimum of 3 hours in total, and at minimum call your cat 6 times a night, more if you wish, also in early morning before noise of day muffles you hearing her mewing back at you.

Also open a file with the SPCA de Montréal on their website in the lost and found dept in case someone brings her in.

Go out at night when it is quieter and shake a bag of treats and call her name she is probably hiding and scared and will come out when she hears your voice 🙏
