Please check nearby storm drains and sewer pipes. Vehicle engines and tire wells. Attics, closets, vents, and basements. Garages and sheds. Bushes, weeds, and trees. Under buildings and porches. In addition to other times, please search outside at dawn and dusk when it's quiet. Set outside your old clothes so Nick may detect a familiar scent. Good luck.

Borrow a trap from your Vet. Set the trap close to where cat got out. Put food in the trap and a worn Tshirt of owner for scent. Cover the trap with a towel or cat's blanket.

Be sure and post on nextdoor and Cincinnati Tri-State Area Lost and Found Pets (includes NKY and SE IN). Put up flyers everywhere including in your yard, hang some of your unwashed clothing outside, and put out some smelly food. Check under decks and porches, inside garages and outdoor building, and around bushes and tree lines; ask neighbors to do the same. Go outside late at night when it’s quiet and call for him/her while shaking his/her favorite treats, use a flashlight to help see his/her eyes.

Usually inside cats don't go far, about 4 to 7 houses away. They are usually scared so hunker down under anything that gives them cover; bushes, porches, parked cars. Dusk is when they feel comfortable enough to start moving around. Go out around that time & call her/his name softly while shaking her/his favorite treat container. Also put clothing that has your scent on it by an entrance, in a box turned on its side so they can hide in it if they want. Cats can smell a long way off. Praying your girl/boy is home soon.
