Here is a FB video link from a rescue in CA but they have wonderful, and all free, search tips for finding your missing cat. Please also search at night w/ a flashlight (eyes will glow). Check up in trees and inside/under things and talk to neighbors and animal control frequently. https://www.facebook.com/FrontStreetAnimalShelter/videos/388310901737884

Shared, place some of your worn clothing outside so he may detect your scent and find his way home ( change daily so the scent will be fresh). Also, check under brush or outbuildings if any is near where he could be hiding and check with neighbors in case he wandered into someone else's outbuildings or garage. Make flyers and also ask your mail carrier to keep an eye out. Good luck finding your fur baby.

They are usually fairly close by. Put out any favorite pungent smelling food and go out at night and shake a treat bag he knows calling for him and always check at night they are nocturnal. Put out litter box, cat tree / blanket or pillow / cat bed he knows. Check neighbors bushes and your own, under things, they can hide in small spaces. Someone on fb found their cat in a gophers hole in the neighbor's back yard. My neighbor just left the garage door cracked (or a window) and their daughter's kitty came back in last night. They do know their way home I feel like. Sometimes someone takes them inside feeling sorry for them or starts feeding them like they are feral stray. Good luck and I hope he comes home or is found soon!

I'm so sorry about your baby.🥺💔 Most cats stay close to home or near to where they were lost so it is critical to be as proactive as possible. Check everywhere outside even in drain pipes and drains, in logs, under bushes and cars and up in trees. Use a flashlight after dark as it will make your cat's eyes glow. Check under your house and your neighbor's houses, in sheds, garages, etc. (If an indoor-only cat, just know they typically do not recognize their owners outside because it is a different environment and they are scared. If indoor-only, sit outside every single day especially in the morning and at dusk/night so your cat can get used to you being there.) Put dry food in a plastic container with a lid and periodically shake it and call your cat's name. Crack your garage door or leave a porch door open so it can get inside (this ensures if the cat was chased away it can sneak back in when it can). Work with a cat rescue to immediately set a cat trap or you can purchase one at Tractor Supply or order one or more on Amazon and set them yourself. You will need to monitor the trap(s). Print some flyers for neighbors and businesses in the area. Put posters in public areas, like on street signs and in your front yard, and offer some type of reward, if you can. Put the reward amount on the flyers and posters. A reward will incite people to intentionally be on the lookout for your cat or to return it to you. Also post on the Ring app, Nextdoor and Pawboost and visit pet rescues/shelters in person regularly to see if someone has found your cat and has taken it to one. Give them a flyer and report your cat as missing. Please read this article for both indoor-only and outdoor-access lost cats: https://www.missinganimalresponse.com/lost-cat-behavior/
