Description

LOST BLACK CAT - FREE

Message from Owner

Our indoor/outdoor cat, Winston, didn't come this morning and we found his snap off collar and tracker on the sidewalk in front of our hse on Limerick Ave near Sequoia Elementary. It stopped tracking movement around 445am. Posting to see if anyone has seen him. He's a medium haired black cat and is completely black except the gray hairs he's sprouting with age. He's microchipped, super friendly, and hyperthyroid and needs his . Thanks in advance! Hoping he will wander soon... (I sadly know the risks for outdoor cats. He unfortunately forced our hand and insisted on going outside despite my better judgment.)

Why is your cat outside unattended and unleashed? Not a good sign when you find the collar but not him. Those AirTag collars give owners of false sense of security. They do not protect your cat against coyotes, dogs, or cars. Here’s my advice: Searching for him is the fastest way to get him back: 🐾 Sad seeing so many kitties go missing just this week. Poor baby, he must be so scaredļæ¼ and hungry out on his own. When a cat goes missing, they can’t easily find their way home using only their scent. You must be proactive and look for them. šŸ”¦ Look under cars, bushes & hedges, look for glowing eyes w/flashlight, call his name at dusk when it’s quiet and they come out from hiding to eat. Posting is important, but please search for him, too. They don’t go far, 3-4 houses away, they stay in one place until they are scared off by dogs, coyotes, or loud noises. The challenge is finding him before he gets further away. šŸ“£Please hang flyers near the area he went missing, it’ll let your neighbors know you’re looking for him and get the immediate attention from pedestrians and drivers. You’re the one that can bring him home safely, he’ll recognize your voice, footsteps and your scent.ļæ¼ Post on ND, check SDHS Lost & Found daily. If you’re able to find him, PLEASE, please don’t let him out unattended. Cats have the intelligence of a 3yo, they don’t know the dangers, they face outdoors with coyotes, dogs, cars, and worst of all evil people who taunt or injure cats. It only takes an hour to train a cat on a leash, then he can be outdoors safely with you. šŸˆā€ā¬› Good luck finding this gorgeous little guy šŸ¾šŸ’™šŸ¾
