🚨 MISSING ORANGE CAT – PLEASE HELP 🚨 Our beloved orange boy, Goldwin, has been missing since the night of July 11 from the private wooded area off Woodlands Ln, Rixeyville, VA. He is an orange long-haired male (intact), about 2½ years old. Although normally fluffy, he has shed much of his summer coat and may look almost short-haired. He has healing wounds on both shoulders from recent cat fights. Goldwin is extremely friendly and very social. He is not afraid of people and often walks onto porches just to say hello. He is also a total free spirit who insists on going outside every night. He normally roams over a mile at night (in another neighborhood) but always comes home the next morning. However, he is NEW to Rixeyville (arrived on July 1 and disappeared on July 11), so we're worried he may have gotten lost, become trapped in a shed, garage, or wildlife trap, or followed other cats too far. This is the first time we have had no sightings of him—or any response when I call for him. As long as he can hear me calling, he always answers—even from far away. Given his social nature, he may have wandered toward nearby homes—especially those with other cats or areas frequented by stray cats. Possible areas include Woodlands Ln, Monumental Mills Rd, Settle School Rd, Hazel River Rd, Beechwood Ln, and 5 Staff Ln. From a distance, his fluffy tail can make him look like a small fox. If you see ANY orange cat that could be him—even briefly—please text, call, or email immediately.
