Message from Owner

o! I hope this post finds everyone well. I’m deeply saddened to share my green cheeked conure has gotten out and I can’t help but feel helpless these past days with the weather and heartbreak for his mate who continues to call for him to return. If anyone has spotted him or lives within the mile radius please be on the look out 😞 He is not social but food motivated, he is not a green mutation HE IS TURQUOISE , also has a silver leg band) Location: Cornwallis rd (specific neighborhood Carrington)

Contact animal control and police in case someone finds your bird and calls them. Also there's a service called lostmydoggie.com and lostmykitty.com. In addition to flyers, a good way to reach all your neighbors is something lostmydoggie.com and lostmykitty.com offers, an amber alert where they will call and leave a message about your missing animal to all your neighbors. I'm sure they would let you do this for your bird if you ask. Very important, see if your town and surrounding towns have community Facebook groups and join them and share this post there. These are the people who will see your bird! And if you haven't already, post your lost bird on the many missing pet sites on Facebook. There are usually several for specific areas. Also, call all the local vets and emergency vets and get flyers to them so they can keep an eye out if anyone brings your bird to the vet. I hope you find your beautiful bird soon.💚

Any chance it could have made it to Fayetteville? I’m searching for the post I saw a day or two ago on a Fayetteville page about a bird that looked like this in someone’s tree. I’m worried though that they took the post down because I don’t think they tried to catch it. The comments were they needed to catch it because it wouldn’t survive. I can’t remember the page either because I’m a part of several Fayetteville pages. I will keep looking for the post though. I just want you to be aware one like this was also spotted in Fayetteville.

Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1GkxbYWgra/?mibextid=wwXIfr We are so sorry to hear your bird is missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
