Post to NextDoor Check shelter website 24petconnect .com City of San Jose Animal Care & Services Put up flyers - Creating a dog scent station from a rescue who helps reunite pets. Take an unwashed article of THE OWNERS clothing.( Socks , Sheet, Underware & Hang it in a tree ,on a fence , a pole or edge of roof & put an article of unwashed clothes on ground below. The wind will carry the scent. If there is another dog in the home take that dog's fresh poop and rub it on a rag & hang it high . Open your gates. Your garage door , turn on all your lights. Put a rug or towel on porch with a bowl of water. Do not put the dog's bed or the dog's toys outside. The only scent we want is from the owners. Please do this ASAP. Rain or Shine.A dog can find its way back from miles by following a scent. They don't operate like humans on sight or sound. Also saturate the area with bright flyers.& file a lost report with your local shelters and check those in person in case your dog is there.

Ask neighbors to check surveillance cameras footage perhaps something useful was caught on video. Post on Nexdoor, Ring and Pawboost for people not on FB. Report to shelter as lost and check in person. Hang flyers all over, check with homeless people many like to keep stray dogs. Never leave pets unattended in your own yard coyotes can and will jump fences. Hope pup is found safe.
