SHARED BY LOST AND FOUND PETS OF MEMPHIS, WEST TN, EAST AR & NORTH MS So sorry your baby is missing..here are some tips: If your pet is microchipped, notify the chip company and verify your information is current. Place a piece of your worn, unwashed clothing or the pet's bedding in place of last confirmed sighting. Just lay it on the ground. The scent will fade and will need to be replaced at least every other day. If it rains..Definitely change it. Ask neighbors to check any security or ring cameras. Also, set up feeding and water stations. Use smelly canned food or boneless chicken works. I've also known people to use the liquid smoke to make the scent stronger. Don't put out a lot at a time but keeping food in the area will help keep you pet in the area. Be consistent. Early morning and sunset are prime times for a dog to forage for food. Post on nextdoor.com Put quick and easy to read signs in a 5 mile radius where your furbaby went missing also one in your yard. . Especially at intersections. Pass out flyers in the area.. Give one to your mail carrier, FedEx, UPS, etc. drivers with your contact info .. Some people do not know about online lost and found resources. Notify ALL shelters in the area and check daily. Take to a veterinarian clinic, animal shelter in your area, Humane Society of Memphis and Shelby County, Memphis Fire Station or Animal Emergency Center to check for a microchip - it is free to do. [ ] 3. Post to www.nextdoor.com, Ring app, and all online lost and found places. Notify all shelters in the area. [ ] 4. Put quick and easy flyers where you found the furbaby. Some people do not know about online lost and found resources. [ ] 5. If anyone tries to claim the furbaby, ask for proof of ownership‼️ [ ] 6. Link to Memphis Animal Services Found Pet Page - owner search info, file a found pet report, (When you file a pet report, you will also have the option to be a Found Foster = vet care & supplies supplied by MAS at no cost to you.
