If a pet it's might be microchiped. I know some of bigger species are/can be, not sure about that kind. Also might have an ID band since we only can one leg.

Cyndi Eller you're welcome! I hate to think of it out in this rain, too. It has probably found a safe place to wait it out and won't come into the open again until the rain lets up, or possibly until morning. If it's seen again, someone could just sit outside there to see if it will come to them. It might take a lot of patience, but it's worth a shot!

Cyndi Eller if it's tame enough it may land on a person. If it does, they should stay calm and slowly walk indoors, ideally into a bathroom, to contain it. Another option is to place an open cage outside to see if it will go into it, but the cage needs to be monitored to make sure no wildlife goes into it. It says the bird is friendly, which is helpful. I wonder if anything has been tried so far...
