Jessica Patterson, you need to keep feeding until Apricot returns home. If she comes when you're not looking and doesn't find food, she'll wander away in search of it and you may loose the chance to get her back. And if you believe you see her again, call softly but retreat to the house -- you wan to draw he to you, not make her run in the opposite direction. Going after an escaped indoor cat is instinctual, I understand, but it could scare them away. With regard to other cats, you can place food out in the open at the perimeter of your property, away from a path Apricot would take home. She is too timid to eat in an unsheltered spot, but a stray cat would and it may satisfy them and keep them from the food intended for Apricot. Keep up the good work and let me know how it goes.

Diana Ellis Last night I was putting something in the recycling bin by the curb. I closed the lid and a cat ran out of the gap I left open for her in the garage. I have food and water there for her. I’m 80% sure it wasn’t her. I called for her and it ran then stopped and looked at me. I ran inside and got the flashlight, but it jumped into vegetation and went down to the creek we live on. I’m think I shouldn’t put out food anymore bc it’s drawing other cats and that could prevent her from coming home. Any thoughts on this?
