Dear Deborah, Thank you for sharing your insights. It’s true, the safety of our beloved pets is of utmost importance, especially in our community. While we must remain vigilant against potential threats from outsiders, it’s essential to also acknowledge the role of responsible pet ownership. In the case of the elderly man’s missing dog, it’s crucial to recognize that accidents happen, such as gates being left open unintentionally. However, it’s equally important to consider the possibility of external factors like coyotes, which pose a significant threat to pets’ safety. Microchipping and ensuring our pets wear collars with tags are essential measures to help reunite lost pets with their owners. Additionally, maintaining secure fencing and using locks on gates can provide an added layer of protection. Ultimately, it’s a collective responsibility to keep our community safe for both humans and animals alike. By keeping a watchful eye and offering assistance when needed, we can work together to ensure the well-being of all pets in our neighborhood. Thank you for your concern and for being an advocate for the welfare of our furry friends. Best regards, Nina Bisel

Deborah Hillman In defense of dog owners….it is apparent that we have a rampant and bizarre problem with weirdos/sickos, who just seem to just want to open gates, and either steal a dog for no reason, only to let them loose miles away, or just let the poor dog loose. As long as people can’t reach over, it’s best to keep a lock on the gate. Also, make sure you get your pet microchipped and have your dog wear a collar & dog tag,

Deborah Hillman I agree I think all small pet should be treated like toddlers. Would you leave your toddler out in the front yard?

Deborah Hillman they’re not the ones that are out looking for the dog as they should be makes me so mad if someone I trusted left the gate open and my dog with some water off I would have their heads
