FOUND CAT TIPS
Thanks for helping this cat!
Please hide identifying marks or collars so owner can identify. Please get proof of ownership before turning the pet over (vet records, pictures etc.)
Cats donโt go far from home, picked up or hitched a ride, could be an outdoor roaming cat or lost.
-Go door to door. Check with neighbors within a few miles.
-If safe to do, check for chip (vet, shelter or pet store can check) I helped reunite a cat that was lost for 3 years that had a chip!
-Report and Check with shelter to see if any missing with the cats description. There is a LEGAL stray hold for all animals found.
-Share to lost and found sites, pawboost, Nextdoor and Lost & Found Pets of North Carolina
-Put posters up in your yard and around neighborhood(some do not have social media)
-After legal stray hold is up then pursue a rescue to ensure a safe place or this baby could end up in the wrong hands.
You can go to petfinder .com and look for rescues and shelters and start calling and emailing rescues to help. Offer to foster or donate will help them!
Tip: If safe to do, place a paper collar with a note attached. You cut the paper so it will easily tear if the cat gets caught on anything. Write something like: โIf this is your cat, please call ##### so we know he/she has a home and donโt rescue them.โRead More
Any new pet added within 2 miles of your location will be automatically shared to your Nextdoor feed.
The post will automatically update when a pet is reunited.
