I highly recommend putting your worn tee shirt outside. Your cat will smell your scent. I've done it before and it worked. *Do not put the litter box outside, it will attract predators.

Pls create a “scent station” him to help him find his way home. Outside the door that he is most familiar with, put these items out: his cat bed, the dirtiest and smelliest clothing of his favorite person, blanket, toys, food and water (bring the food in at night). DO NOT put out the litter box. Turn on the porch light for that door and, if you’re comfortable with it, leave the door cracked open enough for him to get back inside. There might be something helpful on this chart. Also post him on Nextdoor and 24PetConnect.
