Message from Finder

Found this cat by the Euclid and Trask intersection of Garden Grove. I think the poor kitten was attacked or hit by a car because it had part of its ear torn off and bleeding from the mouth a little. Took him to get help from the animal control team at the Garden Grove public works yard on Newhope. Im going to go check in him/her later today. Contact me for more info.

Juan Muñoz i had something similar few months ago when i tried to save an injured cats life who also got run over. this happened at my workplace. i came into work at noon, & i was told by 1 of my co-worker there was a cat outside in the corner been there since in the mornin. i checked it out. & the looks of it i can see frm its eyes that it was badly hurt & antagonizing in pain, it even urinated itself & having hard time to move. i asked another co-worker if they called for help, gave it food & water? nobody did, nobody cared & pay attention. im a cat person, cat owner, cat lover as well so i called for animal control to come take it to take it to the vet hospital nearby. called them back 2 hours later to check on its status, unfortunately sad news they had to put it dwn cuz of internal bleeding, they cant do anything about it as its a stray (or who knows it someones cat got out & lost its way home). if i came in early & have known about it, could have save its life or if other people cared & already called in the beginning, instead of passing by & “ ohhh there is a cat “. tried & did my best, but i was a bit too late. so im sorry 😿

Juan Muñoz thank you for caring and doing what you could. You did enough so please don’t be hard on yourself. I know it is heartbreaking but you helped as much as you could and cared enough to try and help, and that’s what counts.

Juan Muñoz you gave her the best chance you could by taking her to the shelter. Whatever experience wounded her that badly is not your fault. You showed her compassion and I'm sure she felt your care during the time you had her. She did not die alone -- you gave her that. 🙏

Sad to announce that the cat didn't make it😞 I went to to go visit after work and they had transfered her to another facility due to a bad fever/infection. By the time I got to that facility they had already put her down. (Little back story for my mental health because this whole experience wrecked me) I saw her on the streets leaning on a storm drain. She was bleeding from the mouth and ear. She was also very wobbly and tipping over. It took me a good 30 minutes to gain her trust and stopping her from tipping over into the street. When I got her I took her to get help at a animal shelter since most vets weren't open. They said they had seen her before as she had a feral cat marker (idk what that is). Went to work and during that time they transfered her and gave me the news when I came back to see her. I feel like I should have done more and taken her to a different vet hospital and said she was mine. Maybe that would have made a difference, maybe not. Sharing this because I was definitely not emotionally ready to hear the bad news

This cat looks well fed and if he let you take him, he is not a feral. Please keep him indoors until and owner can be located.
