Message from Owner

Peanut is a 2 year old domestic shorthair. She loves to run out the door when we come home but usually we put her back in with ease. We think she ran out the back door when we weren't paying attention last night. She's friendly, vocal, and usually very playful. She's pretty adventurous too so we're worried she went further than she should. She is microchipped. Please, please, please keep an eye out and contact us if you see her!

Hi, I once saw a cat near the bushes by the entrance of Unit 70x. I don't remember the exact day, but it was at least 3–4 days ago. I'm not sure whether that was your unit or whether it was your cat. The cat seemed a little shy, and I was worried that if I approached, it would run into the bushes and become even harder to find. It was also sitting very calmly near the front door, so I thought that if it belonged there, the residents would probably see it when they opened the door. Because of that, I didn't intervene. After that, I never saw it again and assumed it had gone back home. I'm not sure if you've already tried this, but you might consider placing some of its favorite food or a familiar item, such as a blanket or something with your scent, near your front door. It might encourage your cat to come back and wait there. A few days ago, I took my own cat for a walk around the neighborhood. She didn't seem to react to anything unusual, so I don't think she noticed another cat nearby (I assume her senses are much better than mine). Of course, that doesn't necessarily mean your cat isn't still somewhere in the neighborhood. There are so many bushes and small animals around here that it could be hiding almost anywhere. I really hope you find your cat soon. If I happen to see it around the neighborhood again, I'll let you know right away. Best of luck, and I hope your cat returns home safely.
