The Ring doorbell app community works like next-door app. Please post on the next-door app too. It’s called Neighbors . It’s free and you do not need to own the doorbell to post on it. Post your pet is lost/found on there and maybe someone’s already seen your pet or found your pet and has posted on there. It’s really popular for lost and found and loose pets. when you make your post, make sure your “contact author” is turned on before posting and list your street /cross street because it’s very anonymous. It will not show names or location of you or other neighbors. And a couple people from the same family may be responding to your post ..and check your comments throughout the day

use Petco love lost website. It’s a database matching the pets pic, (either lost or found ) use a clear picture of the face. And a separate search with a clear picture of face and body. I’ve seen other pets appear when I tried two times / matched with similar on other participating platforms like shelters, rescues, Nextdoor, Ring and others. Keep in mind the distance order it displays and dates won’t be in order so keep scrolling far and check throughout the day every day.

If not in shelter/ found/spotted in 1 day or 2 (go buy your gut momma daddy instinct) unless you have a special breed that people steal (or you believe your cat is hiding for a longer period of time) - MAKE “STOLEN/LOST/ REWARD” “Report FILED “ on poster. don’t write too much. AND have police report filed 1st! if pet is not home yet , or in 3-5 or more days it’s up to you, and it’s for the records. This is how it’s done when stolen property is discovered , Also when someone has proof and wants to come forward, you notify the department so an officer s you to the meeting place and then you can decide on their story & if they deserve a reward. 🚨Make Emergency noticeable posters (get seen much more by people , they can take a pic from their vehicles, also can see better driving & cycling AND more memorable than the notebook paper sized ones) Get NEON posterboard, black large magic markers, clear packaging tape from Dollar Tree. Cut each board in half making 2 each. Use the tape to also cover the picture and your handwriting to protect from the weather. Keep the writing extremely simple “lost dog /cat & phone #”. If dog runs from people write “DO NOT CHASE/ CALL” I add age if older, or “STOLEN” if needed . May Need a staple gun for wooden poles-important to place at intersections. Talk with people while you’re driving around and parking to tape these up. Ask them to take a screenshot of your poster or from your phone. These get the word out for people who are not on social media. You don’t have to add reward but if missing over a few days I would. Be prepared for scammers, but they won’t really have your pet. There are common ones that will want to extort money from you so they have your pet but took to the vet first and want the vet bill paid. They won’t have proof. Another scam is a couple found your pet, but one of the partners is keeping him hostage, and the other partner wants to help you and will eventually want money

At the top of my page is a pinned post with tips on how to find or return a lost dog. This Facebook post includes links to other local Lost and Found Facebook pages to save you time and effort, as well as links to places where you can report found/lost pets. Don’t forget to look for posts that may already be up for the pet. There's a video link on how to catch a loose and normally scared dog (e.g. calling their name – even by the owner - can send them running the other way if in survival mode, don't chase, etc.). https://youtu.be/cmiZzB643is There’s lots of information about creating a scent trails by WALKING and other ways like putting out your dirty laundry, all so the dog can smell his way home. Dogs can smell up to 11 miles away. In the comments is a diagram of a wagon wheel showing how to lay out a scent trail leading back to your home ……………do this ASAP…………….. 🏃💨 🐾 Petco Love Lost offers an AI-powered Pet ID with photo recognition to help reunite lost pets with their families.
