Place scented items of yours like used bathroom towel or mat, used clothes, etc.. Outside your door. Scent may help him find the way back home.
If chipped make sure your contact info is up to date with microchip company.
Definitely check garages, sheds, window wells and let neighbors know in case anyone sees him on their doorbell camaras.
