Message from Owner
Before anything else, I want to make something very clear, I am still looking for her because I want my baby back. If someone has taken her in and has been caring for her, feeding her, and keeping her safe, I am truly, deeply grateful. Thank you for loving her in my absence. But I still need her back with her family, and At the very least, I need to know what happened to her. If she is safe with someone, I am truly grateful for the care she has been given but she is still my cat, and I want her returned . If she has past, I just need honesty and closure so I can finally know the truth. And I also want to say this because I know people may think it this is not me “only now deciding I want her back.” I have wanted her every single day since she went missing. She disappeared when I was 14 years old. I’m 16 now, and I’ve done everything I possibly could with the limitations I had. I didn’t have transportation to consistently check shelters or go far distances on my own, and my parents work a lot. Even now, I’m still limited in some ways but I have never stopped trying. I’ve posted, made flyers, followed every piece of advice I’ve been given, and even went back to the barn I rescued her from hoping she might’ve returned there. She wasn’t there. Lilly is not just a pet to me. She is family, she was my first “baby” in every way that matters. I raised her from a tiny runt kitten I rescued from a barn where she was being pushed away from food. From the very beginning, she chose me, and I chose her. Our bond was something I can’t fully explain. She would wait for me every day in front of my bedroom door until I came . She didn’t do that for anyone else, just me. When I left the hse, whether it was school, a friend’s hse, or even just going out with my parents, she would go into my room and wait for me to return like it was her job. She was also extremely protective of me in a way I didn’t fully understand until I got older. She didn’t trust people easily, she would watch strangers closely and sometimes avoid or react to them if she felt uncomfortable energy. I used to wonder why, but looking back now, I understand she was very in tune with people and very protective of me. There was even a moment when someone came into my room while she was there, and she reacted strongly trying to protect me. i moved the person out of the way so she ended up scratching and biting me before I could calm the situation (she didn’t mean to get me at all) but even that just showed how deeply she cared and how much she saw me as her person. And when she wasn’t being protective, she was the most affectionate, gentle soul. She wasn’t distant like people think cats are. She would cuddle with me constantly sleeping between my legs, curling under the blankets, or pressing right up against my side or under my arm. She chose closeness. She chose me every time. We were inseparable in every way. That’s why I’m still searching. That’s why I won’t stop. I don’t care how much time has past, I just need answers. I want her , or I need to know what happened to her. If you have seen a female calico/ tortoises/ domestic shorthair/ black, orange, and white cat specifically one with a black freckle type of dot on the tip of their nose in the area, taken one in, been feeding one, or even saw one injured or deceased at any point, please reach out. Even the smallest detail could help. Lilly will always be my baby, and I will never stop trying to find her.
