If you haven’t already, I’d recommend posting on the Nextdoor app and as well so it will help reach more of your neighbors. Cats are often hiding very close by. Make sure you thoroughly check cars, decks, bushes, garages, window wells, etc… It’s good to search at dawn and dusk when it’s quieter. Use a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Make a flyer with a picture and your contact info and give to your neighbors. Hoping for a quick reunion for you both!

Jacob Toruno list ur cross streets for a more precise location. Here is my cat advice. Post should have nearest cross streets, contact number or email, cat's name, markings, , and if the cat has collar, tags or chip, or special needs (, elderly). Mention if it is an indoor escapee or indoor outdoor cat and if it is friendly or skittish. Use a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Chances are it is not far away. Dusk is a good time to do this. Look under cars, grill covers, decks and porches, bushes, storm drains. Leave dry food and canned smelly food like tuna or sardines and water. Ask your neighbors to check their yards and check their ring cam footage, sheds, garages, window wells. Post on nextdoor and any neighborhood facebook page. Do flyers to each neighbor and make 50-100 flyers. If you are in an apt complex, post flyers in public areas like mailboxes hallways laundry garbage bins pool etc. notify apt management and maintenance so they can watch for the cat as they do work around the complex and the office can send an email to the residents You may need to do it for neighboring apt complexes too. Step by step lost cat guide and flyer template https://wicatinfo.weebly.com/lost-pet-resources.html best of luck. Also notify the humane soc that the cat is lost.Trail cams are useful to see who is eating the food. They run about 50 dollars online or at Walmart or Fleet Farm. Note that any light siamese, orange or buff cats may look white on the nightime cams. Calico cats will have the orange spots come out as white. Please let your neighbors know this and put the info on the flyers, as people may see your cat and not realize it is yours.

STEPS TO TAKE IF YOUR CAT IS LOST Cats go into survival mode when lost. They hide close to home at first, in bushes, up trees 🌲 under cars 🚗 , inside the wheel wells 🛞 of cars, under decks and behind lattices under decks . Call for them when it’s quiet, shake a treat bag. Put some smelly cat food that’s 🐠 flavor, outside your door, kitties always try to find a food source and will travel farther away until they find one. If it’s dark outside, use a flashlight 🔦 to look for “eye shine” 👁️ under bushes and cars. ***OPEN YOUR GARAGE DOOR🚪 a bit so they can come inside, put some unwashed clothing 👕 on the floor.*** FLYERS FLYERS FLYERS! Make some flyers (on brightly colored paper 📝 with a picture) and post them in the area. Contact animal control, local rescue groups and check Craigslist. Join and post on Lost Pet groups on Facebook in your area. Post on Nextdoor app. And ask neighbors to check their sheds and garages garage’s Cats get accidentally locked inside garages and sheds— 😢 CHECK OPEN/UNCOVERED WINDOW WELLS!! Cats can get trapped down inside them. Hopefully all these tips will bring your kitty home 🐈‍⬛ 🏡

If Salem is an inside only cat, they may not have gone far and could be close by hiding in tight spaces or drainage tunnels. Put out wet smelly food and monitor. You may also want to put out something with your scent like a pillow case. Use a flashlight at Dusk/Dawn as their eyes will glow. Make sure to file a missing pet report with Dane County Humane Society. Are they chipped?
