This is a copied post, part of “Buddha’s lost pet things to do”. ***IMPORTANT*** Please try setting a feeding station near the point of escape. Dogs often circle back to where they escaped. If the dog is nearby, it may smell the food and find its way back. Leave a scent item such as a dog bed, worn sweatshirt, jacket, bed sheet, towel, or pillow near the escape point, along with some high-value food like cut-up hot dogs or Vienna sausages. Be sure to spread 3-4 bottles of liquid smoke (hickory) around the area leading to the food, but not on the food itself. Liquid smoke can be found at the grocery store near the BBQ sauce. FLIERS generate sightings. Once there’s a sighting, a trapper would set up a feeding station & humane trap. Contact a trapper, so they’ll be ready at the last sighting. *If there are no recent sighting, hang & distribute more fliers.
