Message from Owner

I love James so much. So does Sol, his cockatiel friend. We miss him very much.James has happy memories of Rice Krispies so if you show him a box he might want to stay. He might be thirsty hungry and scared. Please offer him some water. He's very cautious about people so he will need space. Please let me know if you find him.

David Corrick You're welcome! When I'm walking my guy this afternoon I'll try hollering out Pretty Bird, and see if I get anything back. I hope you find him.

Anita HoskinsThanks for thinking about us! I"ve never heard him say "o." He does a pretty good "Pretty bird" but my cockatiels don't copy human speech the way African Grey's can. James can make a static sound. I don't know how he learned that. Mostly he sings and whistles. It helps that people are looking. I have tried to go everywhere but I can't walk fast enough. Thanks again.

Fyi... I was walking my dog last night (May 28th) at the Chadwick apartments (75th Quivira)and I swore I heard a parrot and saw a greyish bird flying around at 9pm . Does he talk? I was hearing a "o" off in the distance. Or maybe I was tired... I'm hoping this is a good lead for you.

Posted on Lost and Found birds of the US. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1CrDoAQWye/?mibextid=wwXIfr We are so sorry to hear your bird is missing. Here are some ideas to assist in your search. *Create a post on Pawboost, NextDoor & Ring, if you haven’t already. *During the daytime: use a wireless Bluetooth speaker to broadcast flock calls or your voice, shake treat bags or anything that might attract attention to food, put the cage out where it can be seen. *During the evening when searching is over, design & print off flyers with photo & contact information. These can be encased in a ziplock to keep weatherproof & posted in areas where allowed like parks, poles & any nearby gathering areas. Also drop off some at vet clinics, pet supply stores, anything within a 5 mile radius. Contact local shelters/rescues & even the police dept - they do pick up found/stray pets all the time. Make sure the world knows - neighbors esp ones that have bird feeders/baths/pools. Hand them out while searching the area. Join every local social media group there is. Run an ad in your local newspaper - some run one for free in lost & found (or cheap). Also check with local bird watcher groups - they’re always out & about. Flyers cannot be placed in mailboxes. *PLEASE CHECK WITH LOCAL ANIMAL SHELTERS & FILE A MISSING PET REPORT*
