Description

Orange/yellow tab recently shaved due to matting so his coat is much shorter than in this photo, making him look like a short haired cat. His head and the tip of his tail were NOT shaved. The tip of his tail is very light colored.

Message from Owner

This semi-feral cat went missing one day after being professional shaved due to severe matting. He has not been seen since. He lived here for 1 year, bonded with me and my other semi-feral cat, and was extremely happy, healthy, with a warm predator proof shelter, veterinarian care, all vaccines. He was neutered and chipped. The theory is that being shaved resulted in him feeling unsafe and vulnerable and he went "to ground" but that has been about 48 days ago and I have searched daily, done everything recommended. I miss him dearly. He arrived over a year ago emaciated, totally feral, and grew into a beautiful, healthy, happy cat, although still semi-feral. He can only be caught with a humane trap. I am offering a reward. I desperately want him back. He is loved and very much missed. NO ONE told me that shaving a semi-feral cat could result in them "going to ground". I only hope and pray he did not fall victim to a predator. My property is wild game fenced, 10 acres, thick, heavy woods, so never see coyotes on property but bobcats do live in this area. Nearest neighborhood is Butler Ranch ests and Kirby Springs area. He survived one year before arriving here, so he must have strong survival instincts. I look for him every day. There is absolutely no sign of a zone on the property. My other semi-feral cat has shown no change in her behavior, and remains her usual self. cell is email is

Ron Hicks I hope he returns. He’s lovely. I have a long hair ginger boy, and he has been shaved for the last several summers by my vet. He is much more comfortable once he’s shaved.

He is semi-feral so he doesn't live inside the house or the garage. He has a predator proof shelter on my porch. I have left laundry with my smell everywhere. His safe sanctuary in on my covered porch with heated shelter, food station, etc. He was 100% outdoor. It was my hope to one day make him an indoor cat--I could tell he had the personality for that. So far no reports, no sightings.....

Leave some of your laundry outside your home to help him find his way home by scent. Also leave a door, lower window, garage door cracked open enough for him to find a way back into the home. They normally try to get back inside the same way they got out. If he is scared, he may be moving at night when it is quieter and looking for a way back inside. Hope this helps 🙏

Not true. This was highly recommended because of extreme mats all over his body that he was trying to pull off with his teeth.

I did all of the above--involved the vet, had a professional groomer with 24 years experience do the work, then he went to the vet and was examined and given a 3 year rabies shot.
