1 1/2 yr old not neutered male indoor cat. Escaped through broken screen. Has happened prior but he always came right back. A little sketchy but a lovable boy who loves food and treats!

Praying you find him safe and very soon. 🙏🏻🐾 when he does get home, please have him neutered and tell him he’s grounded.

Most Effective Ways to Help a Lost Cat Find Home: Immediately: Search at dusk and dawn — cats are most active then and more likely to respond Call their name in a calm, quiet voice — not loud, which can frighten them further Shake their favorite treat bag or food container — that sound is deeply familiar Leave their litter box outside — this actually IS very effective because the smell is extremely strong and distinctly theirs and bring it inside at night to prevent other critters..put it back outdoors as soon as possible in the morning..first light is best Leave your worn clothing outside — this does help, combined with other methods Actively search: Check hiding spots — under porches, decks, bushes, in garages Ask neighbors to check sheds and garages.. in the beginning your kitty is very very close most likely. Search within a 3-5 house radius first — scared cats often hide very close by Spread the word: Post on Nextdoor, Facebook local groups, and Lost & Found Cats, online and physical, organizations of your county/city, publications and animal control, police and local shelters immediately. All the immediately work will make the difference. Create flyers with a clear photo and your phone number immediately with reward. Place in all convenience stores and anywhere else thst allows the posting. Include a reward on the poster reward. People who may have found your cat may be motivated to return it in light of getting cash. Their litter box (most effective scent item)..again at night bring it in and put in a porch.or place where the scentcan get through a window. Put out their bed or blanket where it not get wet but outside. Of course a bowl of their food. I can't stress enough the effectiveness of flyers with reward and photo in all local places that low community posts. Also Nextdoor Neighborhood app..invaluable.

My own cat just 2 yrs ago got out when company was over. He was gone almost 3 weeks. I did everything i was instructed to do except I didn't know about putting our bedding/clothing out for the scent. I did however go out and put flyers as you have done. I posted him on the Nextdoor neighborhood app. Prople started communicating. I posted a $50 reward on the posters and on nextdoor. Well a young woman worked about four blocks from my house maybe a little more..and she was feeding a tuxedo cat who kept screaming outside her office window. She was feeding him. She mentioned it to her mom. Her mom contacted me on nextdoor. Her daughter contacted me when she had my cst and was kind enough to keep him in her car with her until I arrived. All of this is to say keep looking and praying. I posted a story about when my son's cat got out. Communication is key.. .i put out sardine juice in the snow for my cat to find his way home and grilled fish outside. I like to think the smell may have kept him in the neighborhood. My neighbors were ready to call the white coats when I was out in my yard at 10 pm grilling sardines and spreading sardine juice from every direction to a ladder leaning to a window that I left open a little..sardine juice on every rung of the ladder. All of it resukted in my boy being home. He had turned "feral" a didnt even look like himself for a week. But he relaxed and settled back in. Please dont lose heart...it takes time.. https://share.google/qHF18lYxSrNoJzZ7G
