How sad fir you. And deadly for cat ..u always transport pets in a carrier..free at humane soc..u can use..and return..til u move again..im frustrated u were so easy to just put him in a car..w high stress..thinking its ok.!!!..KEEP calling humane soc Desoto,char..Mk.reports at anml control both counties online..why hvnt u dine thos .there's Not even record u calling them..mknreports now pkz..ur cat mayb w someone..post on diff counties groups, FB st name groups,post in convenient stores,telephone poles..search at night..whh were u thinking .u dont hv to buy carriers. Free in FB some. Use from humane sic..they can waiver use fee..ppl.bring carriers to donate everyday

No my Patches is still missing. It's really hard because I don't know the location where he got out, I narrowed it down to Punta Gorda but I have spend days and mostly nights looking for him here with no luck , no one has even said they have spotted him. He's not the type to come to you too scared. Thanks for interacting. I look at any comments just in case. Thanks again.

My indoor only male black cat got out once. We put out all the scents. Old blankets, our unwashed clothes, his scratch post, his empty dirty litter box, vacuum dust etc. My nextdoor neighbor would see him trying to return during the day while we were at work. Then get scared and run off into nearby woods. I started setting my alarm for 3am while it was quiet and go out calling him. Finally after 5 days I heard him crying in very thick bushes Nextdoor to our house. I saw his eyes with my flashlight. I had to literally crawl to get him. He was like afraid to move. I finally got him . They usually don’t travel far. They will hunker down close by.
