MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Having Mr. Timmy Whiskers disappear is so very confusing to us. He is an exceptionally smart and resilient kitty, who enjoys his time outside. When inside, he is mean and attacks. Outside, he is affectionate and lovable. He has what I would call street smarts and has never gone far in 5 years. He enjoys visiting neighbors (they all know him), playing with the fox kits each Spring (thank goodness he is well vaccinated! lol and lounging in the most creative of areas. We try to keep him in at night, but when last seen, the clever guy got out of the grge door (after growling for about 1/2hr). We can really use extra sets of eyes and appreciate everyone keeping a look out! Thank you!!

DESCRIPTION

Gary Moss I am aware of utilizing dirty laundry and cameras. He is not afraid nor skittish, so I do not believe for a second that he is in hiding, although, we have put out scents, just in case. Thank you for your suggestions.

Create scent trails on grass and ground to guide your cat home or to a trap, ideally monitored with a trail cam. It’s best to monitor the trap so you can respond quickly once the cat is trapped. Get a towel with the cat’s scent from his bed or your home’s scent or the scent of any other animals in your home. Tie a rope to the towel and drag the towel from the areas where you think the cat might be and create scent trails on the ground leading to your house or the trap. You won’t smell the scent on the towel or the ground, but the cat will. The method worked for me. After trying for three weeks to trap a kitten that had gotten outside, I created scent trails and the next day the cat went into a trap set up right outside the house. Note that the trap always had some sardines or roast chicken in it, but it was the scent trails that gave the cat guidance to get to the trap. If you’re not using a trap, you’ll have to keep watching to see if the cat is nearby. Details: The smell of rotisserie chicken and KFC (breading removed, no bones) seems to travel far. If you use a trap, you may get some possums that you’ll have to release. Rain will wash away the scent you dragged, so you’ll have to do it again. Also, it’s best to renew the scent from day to day to keep the trail fresh. Scent trails method learned from Dan Montuori, expert tracker of lost animals. Contact Dan for additional advice. https://www.facebook.com/dan.maddawg Dan demonstrates how he does it. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2726658517474490&id=100003911057582&mibextid=qC1gEa

Mercy Isaac Hi. I used other posting sites immediately, as well as alerting neighbors , when he did not come home a week ago. I am now searching and utilizing other sites tonight, as I have not heard anything from the initial sites and neighbors.
