Search every hour. Take flashlights, a squeaky toy, and a box of to shake. Leaveca scent trail from home using your dirty socks. Look in storm drains, in and under vehicles, in sewers, alleys, dumpsters, bushes, benind barbeques. Check online listings repeatedly on Nextdoor, Ring Neighbors, Ring Rescue, Petco Love Lost, the Humane Society, and the pound. Post flyers everywhere including on group mailboxes, fences, windshields, sign posts, storefronts. Take some door-to-door and to veterinary offices and animal hospitals.

Hi. I help owners with marketing and promotions by having my owners do a marketing blast for 2 to 3 days. Our average is 8 out of 10 dogs back. The top platforms we use our next door and neighbors by ring which average around a 75% return rate if owners act quickly on day 1. For comparison flyers are said to average a 7-20% Effectiveness rate. Step 1. Write up a good text ad first. Put in this order: Landmark or major cross street plus the city Color breed and size of the dog Male or female Microchipped collar tags etc? Friendly or skittish do not chase! Contact us 24/7 at: Step 2: 1. Post three times a day on next door and the neighbors by ring apps. (Neighbors by ring is different from just ring). 9 out of 10 people that find a pet post them on one or the other so owners need to be on both! *Post during high traffic times - breakfast lunch and bedtime. 2. Comment frequently on your post. Super important. It boosts your post and gets more views. (This is a key component that many people miss. They post and move on to the next group or page and nobody sees it.) *If it's a high risk environment - it's urgent to find the pet because of: 1. Coyotes 2. High traffic area 3. Rattlesnake area 4. Heat risk 5. High theft area 6. Popular stolen breed 7. Expensive breed 8. High homeless population 9. Low income neighborhood In these environments I highly recommend a reward. You don't have time to play around. If you choose to put one it goes FIRST before the location to grab the most attention. Be sure to put the amount, no one pays attention to the word reward only. If it's not a high risk/urgent situation feel free to post what you like. Step 3: Once you have your post written up keep it somewhere safe. Use it every time you post copy and paste, & add the photos of your pet. Step 4: It's also extremely helpful to pull up the location on Google maps, put a pin on it, take a screenshot and upload that with the photos of your pet. Sometimes people need a visual. 💪 Again post three times a day. Comment frequently to get more views and interaction. Sometimes people don't see the post if you simply share it and don't comment on it. So stir the pot. Step 5: I also typically have my owner's post on 3 to 5 groups all in a row that way people are seeing the pet repeatedly. People are more prone to remember something once they've seen it several times. Plus it makes it easy for them to find you if they see your dog. Using these exact steps we usually get 8/10 dogs back pretty quickly. Very effective.💪 Note: regular Lost Pet tips do not apply to high theft breeds or high-risk environments oftentimes. Owners that waste time in the first 48 hours doing the usual stand a good chance of spending weeks or months looking for their pet or not getting their pet back. High risk breeds or environments require crisis marketing not the usual methods. I hope this helps.
