LOST DOG TIPS
BEWARE of scammers saying they found your pet and want you to email them a code, etc. They will also tell you to text or connect through Instagram to a certain group that helped them find their pet. People saying that they found your dog and they want you to text your phone number in messenger, DON'T do it! It's a scam.
SEARCHING RIGHT AWAY everywhere will increase chance of locating your dog.
Borrow or buy humane trap and set up near your home where they got out. Cover it with scented items from you. Get a motion detector camera and monitor to see if it comes back to house. Ask neighbors to review any cameras they have to see if spotted.
In the Woods? Go deep in woods around your house, take some torn strips of scented clothing, make a scent trail by walking around leaving strips of scented clothing leading back to house.
**If Chipped, be sure it is registered and up to date!

Be sure to GO to your LOCAL SHELTERS with a photo and report your pet lost (your pet may have been taken to a shelter that is not the closest one to you). They have a board for both lost and found pets. Many finders take pets they find to them. Remember, NOT EVERYONE is on Social Media. There's some excellent advice on Missing Animal Response Network on Facebook as well as their website. Additional advice can be found on the website under the drop down menu labeled lost pet help.Read More
