That collar looks like a tracking collar....pop case open serial number will be located under the battery.

Debbie Bullock thank you for your advice but I have already done all of those things. This is not the first time I have had a lost dog show up at my house and unfortunately it probably will not be the last. I am well aware of people trying to claim or keep dogs that are not theirs. Our 2 dogs got out 5 years ago. The person that found one of them was trying to keep it and take it back to college with her. Thankfully a Good Samaritan contacted me to let me know.

Please check on Petfinder. com, petharbor. com, Petco. com, Craigslist. Please report to shelter. Please post on Nextdoor. com, and make a Pawboost. com post. Have scanned for microchip. Animals cannot be legally rehomed until required stray hold time is satisfied…your local shelter has required hold time information. This required hold time usually begins with reporting to the shelter and pawboost posts. There are skilled and disguised individuals who troll public sites for easy handovers for very nefarious purposes . Please require proof of ownership through photos, and vet records before releasing to anyone except the shelter. Reputable Rescue is first choice. Thank you for keeping this pup safe!!!
