Description

Gordo is a short-haired tabby cat with grayish-brown fur and well-defined dark stripes. He has a white chest, chin, and part of his muzzle, along with a pink nose outlined in dark color, which makes him very distinctive. His eyes are large, round, and light green. He is very shy and easily frightened. He is afraid of almost everything and tends to hide in quiet places far away from noise. Loud sounds and sudden movements can scare him. Despite being very timid, he loves being petted.

Message from Owner

o, this is Gordo. My family and I recently moved to a new hse. We brought Gordo with us, but when we started looking for him, he was nowhere to be found. After a day past without seeing him or seeing him come out to eat, we realized that he had probably escaped. He got scared, and we believe he may be running around and hiding in different places. He is a very fearful and shy cat. He is afraid of almost everything and usually hides in quiet places far away from noise. Loud sounds and sudden movements can easily scare him. Please, if you see him or have any information, help us find him. We are very worried about him. Thank you very much for your help

Keep in mind that Gordo may be trying to find his way back to previous homestead . I hope not, but it does happen. Cats often try to return to their old home after a move because they are highly territorial and possess a strong "homing instinct". They may use scent marking, spatial memory, and magnetic field detection to navigate back, sometimes traveling miles. Keeping cats indoors for 2-3 weeks at the new location is recommended to prevent this. If not seen locally, I would plan out the route back to your prior home through a cat's eyes and focus your search there. Here are some ideas that may help... Check in and around sheds, garages, under cars and under hood of cars, especially when it’s cold out. If you or your neighbors’ car windows were down, retrace areas where unknowingly kitty may have been a passenger. Check your attics, crawl spaces and in between walls, any appliances in which a door may have been accidently shut, i.e., washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove...also check in closets and drawers. Also look above in trees, rooftops, ledges ! Take a flashlight with you both day and night to catch a gleam from kitty’s eyes. Cats usually travel very late at night or early morning. Leave porch door or garage door open. Leave strong smelling cat food (tuna) or kitty’s favorite food out during normal feeding times and at night (watch out for other hungry critters though). Go outdoors and shake a bag of treats, calling kitty’s name calmly and listen often for a response, kitty may be hiding or trapped somewhere close by. Also leave a familiar blanket or bedding or worn clothing items from kitty’s humans! Post flyers, give flyers to local mail carrier, trash collector, UPS/FED-EX driver, dog walkers, joggers, neighborhood children, alert neighbors, post on Pawboost, nextdoor .com, surrounding towns’ lost and found and other FB organizations as well, alert veterinarian offices in case kitty is brought in. GO to (do NOT just call) SPCA or humane shelters to see for yourself, be adamant about seeing all of their cats, (in case of mistaken breed and/or ) … humans make mistakes too! Don't forget to file a missing pet report. I have seen recently on Facebook that people suggest sending a message to @satellitepetsearch on instagram as they are highly recommended, also sending a direct message to "Satellitefurlostpets” via instagram or a private search service team “animalsatellitesearch1” on instagram. Try googling drone services near your area! Drone services for pet retrieval use thermal cameras to detect animals' heat signatures, allowing for the rapid scanning of large areas, including dense terrain, even at night. These services provide real-time footage and can quickly locate a missing pet, with assistance for the safe recovery of the animal once found. You can find providers by searching online for terms like "thermal drone pet recovery" or looking for local pet search and rescue organizations that utilize drones. Good Luck and I pray that kitty returns home soon!

Please if you ever have to move again, lock your pet(s) in a room that noone else can get into at both houses - the one you’re moving from and into. I pray you find your Gordo🙏🙏❤️❤️
