Probably dumped or abandoned. Hope you can keep him or her. I think you've been chosen.... On another note, Please be very selective of who you place this kitty with. There are deable, unscrupulous, seemingly sincere people who would fool you into thinking they genuinely love animals. When in fact they use them for bait training or a food source.
