Thank you for caring. This possibly an escape or someone dumped this poor dog Some people trap neighborhood cats/ dogs and abandon them far from home. This poor thing definitely belongs to someone especially if wandering around desperate for help outside looking for inside Also, please ask anyone claiming to be the owner for proof of previous ownership such as photos, vet records, or adoption papers especially if the dog is not microchipped. If you can’t find the owner, please be very careful about who you give the dog to. Sadly, some people pretend to be the owners, or animal lovers but take cats, kittens, or dogs for harmful purposes, including dog-fighting bait, feeding to snakes, or selling to research buyers. Others make up convincing stories about giving the pet a wonderful home, but once they have the animal, they abuse it. This happened to a friend of mine who gave a pet to someone, only to later learn that the poor animal was used for dog fights. If you can’t locate the owner, try reaching out to rescue organizations in your area. Many are on Facebook and can offer guidance or help with placement. ❤️🙏
