Lost Dog? 🚨🐶🚨 Call animal control Call non emergency number for police Call all nearest shelters Go to SPCA (in person! No matter what they say). Email shelters/nearest vets photos/contact info If animal is chipped make sure is UTD info Post to WNY Lost and Found Pets, 716 Lost and Found Pets, search for more localized lost sites and post Post to town sites Post to Nextdoor app Post to Craigslist Post to Pawboost Buy neon poster board from dollar store, cut in half, write generic description and phone number on with thick dark sharpie, post to every telephone pole you see. If dog is skittish make sure to say so and to call immediately with sitings/not approach. Photo is bonus. If dog is skittish or unfriendly write on poster “Skittish - DO NOT CALL OR TRY TO APPROACH, call x-x- immediately with any sitings!” Print flyers. Put on mailboxes, doors, to everyone you see outside, police officers, mailmen, delivery drivers, etc. Bring flyers to local stores, ask to hang. Local pizza places? Provide stack, tape and some cash and ask to put on their takeout boxes. Leave a door open if able, back door usually. Leave the freshest (ickiest) undies/socks right off your body and place near open door or live trap. Go out between 10pm-6am and call softly for your pet, with their name, nickname and any little songs you may have for them. Take a handful of food, drop in their own bowl, shake and repeat. Bring flashlight to shine for eyes, (do not shine into traffic or windows) but shine under cars, porches, decks, etc. If you spot your pet? Sit down, face away, call softly and shake their food bowl, treat bag/container they are used to sound of. Make sure you are prepared with a leash. Hit up any close waterways or railroad tracks nearby, dogs follow both. Trapping for Skittish Pups - (Coyote traps average $100, cat are $30 and will work on dogs smaller than 25lbs)…available online and Tractor Supply, Runnings, Harbor Freight, Country Max, etc) Set up feeding stations with trail cameras to make sure it is your pet visiting the area and then set traps or only owner/favorite person sit/lay on ground in that area where on cam/spotted. Leave a liquid smoke trail from back corner, side and front and scent items like their toys and your clothing near door or trap. For trap continue liquid smoke trail into trap and at very back have rotisserie chicken or something as equally smelly. Leave used clothing, bedding and pet bedding on/in trap.

I empathize with your situation regarding your lost pet. When my puppy went missing, I used a search service that aided in our reunion. I suggest reaching out to " lostmyfurfriend " on Instagrm; they are incredibly effective in locating missing pets.
