Message from Owner

This is my kitty kitty. I haven't seen him in 2 days and I miss him dearly. I know black cats are seen all the time but he's special. Super friendly and just wants love.

I'm happy to hear that, but in future, please try to get all your pets fixed (or at least on a waiting list) earlier. Unneutered tomcats will travel 5 miles for a female in heat. He's probably out looking for a girlfriend, where he will encounter many dangers - cars, dogs, coyotes, owls, mean people, and other unneutered tomcats who will fight him (or even unalive him) for a female in heat. Having said all of that, if you haven't already, put up flyers everywhere as many people aren't on social media. Since he's not microchipped, give flyers to every vet clinic, rescue, and shelter within a 10+ mile radius in case he turns up. Since he's not neutered, ask all of them about any local TNR groups or community cat feeders, and give them flyers too, in case he shows up at a colony somewhere looking for a girlfriend. Ask all of your neighbors (as far as you can walk) to check their cameras, garages, sheds, and crawlspaces. Look up in trees in case he was chased coming home. Walk the entire neighborhood in the wee hours with a flashlight and look for glowing eyes. Call him in a regular voice (not panicked) and gently shake a treat bag if he likes that kind of stuff. If he's injured or scared, he's probably hunkered down and hiding, and he may not answer you when you call. That's just instinctual, as a vocal cat gives away their location to predators, and an injured cat is prey. Put his beds/ blankets and some of your dirty clothes on your porches and around the perimeter of your yard. When he comes home, keep him inside until he gets neutered and microchipped, and be sure to register the chip online. You might consider building or buying a catio (some people have bought pe-made chicken coops and "attached" them to their houses with kitty access through a window); or, if you have a fenced-in yard, consider putting up cat-fencing or coyote rollers on top of the fence to keep him safely in your yard (both can be DIY). Good luck ❤️

Suzy Creamcheese ma'am with all due respect I'm just trying to find him not be lectured on neutering cats. He's on a waiting list if you must know for that and a chip.

Colette Schwartz male cats can reach s3xual maturity around 6 months of age. (Females can go into heat as young as 3.5 months old 😞) Ideally, cats should be fixed by 4 months old. I'm guessing that he's not microchipped?
