There was someone posting about a missing parrot in the Olde Mill Run neighborhood in Chesapeake a few weeks ago. Im not sure of the species though. I'll see if I can find the post.

Mary Lou Neal he appears to be in NY, highly likely it's not the same bird as it's molting and its top feathers are longer than this one and the location doesn't match.

Definitely a quaker. If you don't have any parrot food on hand you can offer it some plain cooked pasta noodles or cooked rice in the very short term. It will need parrot food asap though. That bird will not survive in the wild and must be brought inside and caged. It looks like it has flight wings still in the photo.

This is a long shot but we lost our Quaker in Greensboro NC 2 months ago. His name is Echo. He doesn’t have a leg band. Does he respond at all to “Echo” if you call him?

Karen Medina is correct. He’s a Quaker Parrot. I lost one myself many years ago in Chesapeake and was extremely fortunate to find him myself after 2 nights of his being on his own. Scared me to death, as he could easily have attracted a hawk or other bird of prey. I’m happy this one is safe while the owner is looked for.
