Watch out for SCAMMERS!! They are mean‼️ 🚩 You NEVER have to pay a finder’s fee to get your pet back (except from a shelter.) 🚩They might say something like “I got your dog,” then nothing else. 🚩If you don’t respond the way they want you to, they may tell you your pet is dead and some gruesome detail when it’s not even true. 🚩They will try to blackmail you. 🚩Watch out for the Google code scam too. 🚩Don’t send gift cards to anybody. 🚩Watch out for sympathy posts suggesting you contact someone who “helped them find their dog or cat ” who is on Instagram, Telegram.. 🚩Scammers are also referring people to ONLY texting of out of area numbers. 🚩BEWARE of the people saying “please contact or PM me” but nothing else on the post. Scammers will do this to get you out of the public eye so no one can tell you they are a scammer. They should be able to say anything & everything on the post! 🚩There are so many Facebook Pages that are “Pet Recovery” Scams. Examples of these pages include: “paws navigators, Stray Searchers, Pet Alert Rescue.” These scam pages get reported to FB but FB is awful about not removing them. 🚩 There is even an app that I believe is a scam. It is called “Missing Pets - Find Lost Pets.” You can get the same exact (& more publicized) help on PawBoost for free. 🚩If it’s too good to be true then it’s more than likely a scam! Be Aware🐾

✔️Put on PawBoost ✔️Notify your local animal shelter ✔️Put on 24PetConnect ✔️Update microchip information 4/1/25 ♦️Besides posting your pup on PawBoost please check various local Facebook Pawboost pages like this one, Victorville, CA - Lost Dogs, Cats & Pets - PawBoost or Perris, CA - Lost Dog, Cats & Pets - PawBoost and look to see if your pup is posted as FOUND. Please do include your phone number where it asks for it, and NOT in the body of your post. This makes it a lot easier for a finder of your pup to get ahold of you when they find your pup.. Also, please take a look at the PawBoost website, at pawboost.com. This option broadens the search base significantly. You can do searches by breed, color, etc. Keep checking back on your post often and checking for new found posts. ♦️ Alert your area animal shelters, starting with one closest to you. Many of them allow you to do an online LOST PET report and then you’ll be in their database. If you are unable to do that then plan on calling tomorrow. Check the found databases (which should be online) there, daily. Go, in person to as many shelters as you can. ♦️Post in other local Facebook Lost & Found pet forums, as well as 24PetConnect; Craigslist; NextDoor, etc. As you are posting, read through recent posts to find your pup. Criminals will often post Craigslist, or just about anywhere, to try to have a pet “rehomed.” ♦️I hope 🙏 your pup is microchipped. Make sure registration info is up to date through the registration company. ♦️ Contact local veterinarians, pet stores, dog parks and anywhere you can to let people know about your missing pup. This can be done by making MISSING posters (flyers) with neon paper, and posting in the above mentioned locations, as well as on your street corners. Use page protectors for your posters. You can get a free template from PawBoost. Don’t be hesitant to contact local media, such as television stations and radio stations. ♦️ Watch out for SCAMMERS!! (See below)
