Description

Fang is a neutered male tabby cat with a brown and gray striped coat, green eyes, and a lighter-colored muzzle and chin. He is a large, stocky indoor cat with a distinctive dark ringed tail. Fang has anxiety and habitually over-grooms, leaving a noticeable bald patch on his lower belly. He has very little outdoor experience and is likely scared, hiding, and avoiding people rather than wandering openly. While he is friendly with his family, he may be cautious around strangers and may not come when called. If you see a cat matching his description, please take a photo if possible and contact us with the location and time of the sighting. Any information is greatly appreciated.

Message from Owner

Hi everyone. Our indoor cat, Fang, has gone missing and we’re asking for help keeping an eye out for him. Fang is a brown/gray tabby with green eyes and a dark ringed tail. He’s a larger cat and was wearing a collar with tags. He has spent almost his entire life indoors and has very little experience outside, so he is likely scared, hiding, and may not come when called. We’ve attached a recent photo. Please check under porches, decks, sheds, in garages, around vehicles, and any other quiet hiding spots on your property. Even if you’ve only seen a cat that looks similar, we’d appreciate knowing when and where. Fang is a beloved member of our family and we miss him terribly. Any information, sightings, photos, or security camera footage could make a huge difference. Thank you all for your help and for sharing this post.

What to do if you lose your Cat 1. Search all places inside and around your house as cats can hide in small places. 2. Shake their treat bag and softly call their name. 3. Search at dusk and dawn with a flashlight as the light will pick up their eyes. Outside they tend to hide under shrubs, under porches, in open sheds & drainage ditches. You can shake their treats while looking outside too. 4. Put something with your scent on it outdoors, on a porch or deck if possible or in a garage with the door cracked. Sometimes the scent brings them home. You can also put out their litter box but depending on where you live, it could attract predators. 5. Post on nextdoor & Ring Neighbors app. 6. Post on pawboost. You can download a free flyer here. 7. Make a lost pet report to all the local shelters especially in areas that have close boundaries. 8. Post on FB Lost & Found Groups 9. Post on PetFBI site and use .org as the ending. 10. If chipped, report to chip company but don’t forget to change status when your cat is found. 12. Ask your neighbors to check their garages and sheds. Your cat may be coming around the house late at night.
