Shared. Please take the kitty for a microchip scan asap. Some pet stores and most vet offices will do it for free. Ask when you call to arrange it. Post the kitty on Nextdoor, and file a found report with the shelter right away. You don't have to surrender the kitty to file the report. Post flyers in the area, and talk to neighbors. Someone might know something. If they have security cameras, ask them to check the video for any clues. Include veterinary offices and pet stores when you post the flyers. Not everyone checks social media, flyers might help you find the family. Check on Pawboost, the kitty could be reported missing on the website. Go back on their posts at least a few weeks to be sure. Ask for proof when someone contacts you to claim the kitty. Pictures of the kitty with the person/family, and veterinary records are good And pay close attention to the kitty's reaction to the person coming to claim the kitty. If no information can be found and you need to rehome the kitty, please contact local rescue groups for advice and help.
