Lori McDivitt sadly the cat you found is not our Joe. Joe is neutered and he he is a very large cat. Joe has a large primordial pouch and the cat you found doesn’t appear to. Thank you for keeping this baby safe but he is not our guy.

Someone suggested that the cat I have found is this cat. I have sent the owners an email.

Marsha Wood, if Joe is comfortable and confident outside, he may just need some extra help getting home. Thoroughly search using a flashlight during the day and especially at dusk (when it's dark and quiet) to determine whether he’s ill or injured and hiding nearby, or stuck somewhere. Check every crack and crevice, look in outbuildings, containers, vehicles, under foundations, sheds and porches, into trees, etc. — call and listen carefully for Joe’s cries (he may alert you to his location). And it’s important to ask neighbors to do the same and make sure Joe didn’t hide and become trapped in a shed, garage, or vehicle, etc. Please see this list of step-by-step instructions developed to help others in this situation (click on the link to the PDF) and let me know if you have questions. https://www.dropbox.com/s/huk0d1p6euu74ug/OutdoorCat.pdf?dl=0&fbclid=IwAR2TiOBxtcgt8odNRjcoGicoHsGDWrw3K9N4ox0GATJh4qGdsFD6T6gaXFA In addition, this video explains the temperament and behavior of a lost cat — it may instill hope of finding Joe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2eCoC63B9I Good luck. Please keep us posted on your progress.

Diana Ellis Joe was a stray we took in and had spent almost 2 years on his own. He stayed in the house most of the day, but we could never keep him in at night as he’d become a bit destructive if he wanted out and we refused. His pattern was to go out around 8, comeback for food about an hour later and then return on and off during the evening. Usually came in early morning and stayed in all day. Even when out he would come when called, so never ventured far from home.
