Thanks for caring! Please make sure to get a veterinarian reference and call to verify it. Also ask for proof of previous pet ownership photos, vet records, or adoption papers especially if the cat is not microchipped. If you can’t find the owner, please be very careful about who you give the cat to. Unfortunately, some people pretend to be animal lovers, but they take cats, kittens, and dogs to use as bait or in dog fights. Others use them for cruel purposes such as feeding them to snakes or selling them to research facilities. No matter how good someone’s profile looks, stay cautious. There are many people who create convincing stories about giving a pet a wonderful home, only to abuse them later. This happened to a friend of mine who gave a stray cat to someone, and later found out the poor animal was used in dog fights. If you can’t find the owner, try reaching out to rescue organizations in your area and look them up on Facebook. Many have waitlists and may be able to help. ❤️🙏
