Gail Walker except not all pet owners use social media but ALL pet owners know to go to their local shelter to find their missing pet. Anyway, it appears ALPHIE is microchipped and thankfully back with his family.

Gail Walker thank you Gail, but it is the law in Ada County. Per Idaho Humane Society: "All animals must be legally turned over for sheltering at the Idaho Humane Society in Ada County for redemption or legal adoption."

Dyana Dailey Magsig I agree with everything you said, in fact I stated that, but she does not have to surrender to the shelter. I was an animal control officer for 3 years. If she reports this dog found, scans for microchip and is actively looking for this owner she CAN hold on to this dog trying to find its owner. After 30 days of ACTIVELY trying to find owner this dog could legally become hers. That’s better odds of finding the owner than the shorter hold a shelter would do before adopting it out!
