MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Our Merlin we thought at first could've been trapped behind a box or under something, as we're rearranging furniture & belongings after a move. But there was just absolute silence all weekend, we've not seen him, and we get no response to calling him indoors or out (this makes us think he's hiding and scared). He tends to be active at night, which in a big apt cmplx makes it harder. I'm trying not to think about all the things that could've happened to him, but it makes me more scared for him. He's my baby and I miss him so. I'm disabled due to hip surgery so use a walker and can't move around much, and I live with my disabled son, who needs a lot of care. We do have a caregver who is doing a lot of the searching, and he's worried too--he's the Food Man! Any help or hope for our Merlin is much appreciated.

DESCRIPTION

3 years old, domestic shorthair, neutered, all black except for a few white hairs at his neck, yellow eyes, sturdy body, weighs 11 pounds, soft trilling cry, tiny purr, friendly but maybe disoriented and scared (he's a former feral who hasn't been outdoors in two years), left ear has a slight tip from frostbite not a cmmunity cat tip.

Terri DeBoise Harris Thank you. I know the complex but not well; it's not an area I can navigate because I am disabled--searching capability is almost none. If the cat you briefly saw is Merlin, I would be able to tell from a picture, especially if it captures his left ear. I am attaching a picture of him from last December, indoors. The other pic is older and was taken before his ear tip was lost--a frostbite injury, not a community cat clip. Thank you for your post.

Judy Kelly I'm sorry to reply late, I've just found this. We've been putting up flyers in an ever-widening area as time and weather permit. The notion that he's been taken or otherwise moved in with some one who is keeping him inside has occurred to me frequently & it makes some sense. Or else it's a better outcome than him lying ill or injured or dead somewhere. Since there has been no sign of him at all, I can't speculate, but just hope every day that he'll turn up.
