MESSAGE FROM OWNER

Our Merlin we thought at first could've been trapped behind a box or under something, as we're rearranging furniture & belongings after a move. But there was just absolute silence all weekend, we've not seen him, and we get no response to calling him indoors or out (this makes us think he's hiding and scared). He tends to be active at night, which in a big apt cmplx makes it harder. I'm trying not to think about all the things that could've happened to him, but it makes me more scared for him. He's my baby and I miss him so. I'm disabled due to hip surgery so use a walker and can't move around much, and I live with my disabled son, who needs a lot of care. We do have a caregver who is doing a lot of the searching, and he's worried too--he's the Food Man! Any help or hope for our Merlin is much appreciated.

DESCRIPTION

3 years old, domestic shorthair, neutered, all black except for a few white hairs at his neck, yellow eyes, sturdy body, weighs 11 pounds, soft trilling cry, tiny purr, friendly but maybe disoriented and scared (he's a former feral who hasn't been outdoors in two years), left ear has a slight tip from frostbite not a cmmunity cat tip.

This apartment complex isn't the kind where you can do things like that--or maybe some people would but I wouldn't--I haven't lived in this neighborhood long and don't know anybody. I might be able to make friends with one or two. On the other hand, last night my caregiver brought the food and water dishes in and all the food had been eaten and the water level was down. Can't say it was Merlin but maybe it was, so we're continuing to put his dry food out (only the ants had found it until yesterday) and water, and a box with his pillow and a shirt of mine. I went out this morning and called and called but again nothing. But I did see the man in the next unit on his patio, and said good morning to him--don't know if he speaks English though, many people in this complex don't. Well I have a little bit of hope this morning.
