Brown tabby cat lost If you have lost a cat read my first long paragraph. If you found one, Please read the last paragraph The only way a lost cat can find its way home is with its nose. Immediately anything with the cat's scent on it and anything that stinks of you like your smelly socks something that you sweated in overnight and your stinky sneakers even your dirty clothes and your underwear! Cats usually stay within a five house radius of their own home for up to a week sleeping in the bushes and coming out at dusk Dawn and late at night. These are good times to take walks shaking the treat bag and calling for them. Cats can smell up to a whole mile away. So do that immediately and also put this on nextdoor. com and the other lost and found pet sites. Go on those sites looking at pics of found cats too. There might be a match.They tend to come home late at night or early in the morning so if you can keep a window cracked or a door cracked so at least you hear them. Good luck IF YOU HAVE FOUND A CAT: Please post this on all the lost and found pet pages in your county as well as all the neighborhood pages. Look on those pages just look at the photos try to make a match to someone that lost this cat. Any vet will check for a chip for free. In the meantime please give food and water to the kitty and shelter if you can.

I'm so sorry about the fire and that your beautiful brown tabby cat is lost. It's good to know that Rumi made it out safely and her behavior since is typical -- indoor cats will become terrified in uncharted territory, refusing to come when called and even running from their own guardian. There is a technique you can try which may help recover Rumi. This is what I suggest: AT DUSK (or overnight if you have the chance) lay a familiar blanket in a discreet location near where Rumi was last seen. Sit low to the ground and open some tempting food. Call her softly to provide a familiar sound and direction (she won't come on command) and give your little one some quiet time to emerge. If she approaches, don't make any sudden moves -- wait until she's close enough and pinch her scruff (to calm her) but don't let go until she's safely contained. If she doesn't show herself and you cannot wait any longer, leave something familiar (such as worn socks or teeshirt, an old shoe, etc.) to which she may gravitate in a few safe places (under shrubs, for example) along with some nourishing food. As long as Rumi finds something familiar and/or eats there, she should stay put, providing additional chances to snag her. Now, if you cannot get Rumi to emerge and approach, your objective will be to identify a feeding location so you can eventually trap her, if necessary. Many apartment complexes in this area have stray cats that are fed by community volunteers. Find out where the closest one is to your former unit, identify the feeder and enlist their help to feed and eventually trap Rumi if it comes to that. Please keep me updated. I'm hopeful for some good news.

If your cat is an indoor cat, it will be scared and won’t come when called. Try placing their used litter outside. At night, use a flashlight to check under your and your neighbors' bushes and decks for the reflection of your cat's eyes. ‼️Additionally, consider setting up a humane trap as soon as possible, as it's one of the most effective methods for finding lost cats ‼️. You can bait the trap with strong-smelling sardines. These traps can be purchased at local hardware stores or borrowed from animal shelters. While this approach might seem drastic, remember that lost pets often enter survival mode and behave differently. Be sure to research how to use a humane trap effectively. Make sure to visit local animal shelters in person and look for your missing kitty, and post flyers within a one-mile radius of where your kitty went missing. There are also many valuable resources available online if you search for "how to find your missing cat." Important Note: Be cautious of scåmmers who may claim they have found your cat or offer drøne services. It's best not to engage with them. 🙏🏻❤️
