Sorry to hear your cat is missing. Your cat is nearby probably on your property scared and hiding. Put out worn clothing. Clothing has to be worn so that kitty can pick up on the scent. Also put out kitty’s cat bed or a blanket anything with the cat’s scent outside. Leave a window and a door slightly open so that kitty can find its way back inside the house. Be sure to secure other pets first. Go out at Dawn and Dusk approximately 2 am to 5 am especially with a flashlight. The light from the flashlight will reflect in the cat’s eyes. Check underneath bushes, trees, cars, decks, patio furniture and tarps. Anything your cat will use as shelter and a place to hide. Check sheds, garages etc. Kitty’s venture off not to far away from home. Search your property extensively. Most cats are found hiding on owners property. Be sure to search properties at a radius of 10 homes to the right, 10 to the left, 10 behind and 10 in front. Go door to door and let your neighbours know your cat is missing. Ask for their permission to search their properties. Look at every nook and cranny. Neighbours will not thoroughly search their properties or know where to look. It is best if you search the properties yourself. Shake a bag of your cat’s favourite treats or food calling kitty’s name calmly. Important thing is to remain calm. If you find your cat, make no sudden movements. Your cat is scared and in survival mode. Approach your cat slowly and calmly. Extend your hand out so that your cat can smell your hand. You need to gain your cats trust again. Give your cat treats. When you think you can grab your cat confidently do so and hang on tightly to it. Remember your cat is scared and in survival mode and will be scared of you as well. Remain calm. Be sure to create flyers with as much information possible and hand out to your neighbours as well as post flyers in the neighbourhood and the surrounding areas. Remember 10 to the left 10 to the right, 10 to the front and 10 to the back. If you can offer a reward it will encourage others to look for your kitty. Do don’t leave the litter box outside it will attract stray cats, raccoons etc. It will scare your cat away. If your cat is microchipped call the company and report the cat missing. Make sure your contact information is up to date. Report your cat missing to your local SPCA or Human Society. Bring flyers as well to post. Go in person to your local SPCA /Humane Society every couple of days and check out what cats that were recently brought in. Contact rescue groups or agencies and report your cat is missing. Bring them flyers. Go in person and check what cats have been brought it. Report your cat missing on local Facebook animals group and neighborhood watch Facebook pages. Check Kijiji as well. Follow these tips. Don’t waste any time waiting for your cat to come home. Start your search immediately. Just keep going out looking for your cat everyday . Recheck your property, your neighbours and surrounding areas as mentioned as many times as necessary. Check in with the SPCA/Humane Society and rescue groups every couple of days. Don’t give up. It can take days, weeks or months to find your cat. Good luck finding for your cat.

This site has good advice. Put out dirty clothes from the owner on your porch as cats can smell long distances and leave a door open. Walk around shaking treats and talking in a normal voice, but do NOT call his/her name. Play cat meows from YouTube & walk around day & night. This has helped find 2 cats! Hope he/she comes home soon. 🙏 Post neon flyers all around the area! Put out a cat trap if you know the area he/she may be and use an outdoor camera to make sure you are alerted immediately if he/she is caught. Walk around at night with a flash light too. Put out some things that smells like their favorite or familiar people. Do not use a litter box as this may be a beacon to predators as much as the kitty. Don't forget to change out the articles of things so the scent is refreshed. Ask your immediate neighbors and surrounding streets by 5 to 10 miles out to keep an eye out in garages, sheds, crawlspaces, porches, bats, and if possible under any places. Kitties can fit into some very small areas

Beautiful Cat. If chipped, be sure to inform the chip company that kitty is lost!...hope these suggestions help:. Many lost cats have been found using the suggestions from both these websites. Please take the time to read through the sites, it might bring you your kitty! Go to the main menu for the drop down box and open 2 different tabs: Finding Lost Cats and Happy Endings for this info.this www.missinganimalresponse.com....this also is a professional rescue site that offers valuable information about finding lost cats. Again, go to the main menu for appropriate tabs to open... Be sure to open and read Lost Cat Behavior as this has unusual data about lost cat behavior that you wouldn't guess and may assist your search.....especially for indoor only cats! 💙Additionally, file a Lost Cat report with your local county humane society ( often done online) as found cats can be surrendered there, reported as found there or chip checked there!💙 in Thurston County its petcolovelost.org ❤And check your local county humane society for their books of " found" or " reported seen" cats that are either at the shelter or at the finders' home. Many local shelters are full and ask the finders to hold the found cats. There will be photos and contact information!❤ Another site to file you cat as lost is phshelter.com....and ....lostmykitty.com....which cross references shelters' surrendered, found cats! Best wishes😿💖 PS...most indoor only cats are pretty scared of being outside and can be probably pretty close by! Go out at night with a flashlight and look under the house, deck, cars, shrubs and bushes, in outbuildings, up in trees and in all small crawlspaces. Her eyes will shine in the dark! During the day, just walk around the property and converse with her like you're talking to a baby ( in that baby talk voice)....doesn't matter what you say....just talk.....scaredy cats often don't respond to their names but will respond to your voice in talk! Also post on your local NEXTDOOR APP. page and local PAWBOOST APP. page which gets the most lost and found post views! PS...50% of folks don't use social media! Go to your neighborhood, knock on doors, leave your name and number and show photos! Keep checking the shelters every other day. Surrenders are usually held for 3 days before being put up for adoption. Another tip: make Lost Cat posters,with photo, put them onto bright colored card stock ( dollar store) with a contact#, put into clear plastic bags or tape clear plastic or Saran Wrap to it and staple to telephone polls near your areas. TIPS TO HELP FIND YOUR LOST CAT: - Check the house thoroughly as they sometimes hide in the house in unexpected places. -Check underneath your cars, in the car engine area, wheel wells and around the bumpers. -Ask neighbors around you to check garages and sheds as they can sneak in undetected. -See if your neighbors can leave their garages and sheds open for a few hours. Your cat may not come out right away once the doors are open. This is because when cats are in survival mode, they don't always act normal. Your cat may be scared to come out when others are around. - Put a piece of your unwashed clothing outside the last door he/she exited the house from and leave that door open at night so that they can get back inside. - Hang flyers with his/her picture and post all over your neighborhood & surrounding areas. - Take the flyers door to door asking if anyone has seen him/her. -Walk your neighborhood especially at night calling his/her name and listening as he/she may be hiding in the bushes or under something. - Take a flyer to the shelter. - Put a sign in your yard with his/her picture stating he/she is missing. - Check the shelters in person. - Review shelter's found reports. - File a lost report with the shelters. Indoor only cats and limited outdoor access cats never go far. They go into survival mode and hide in silence. They will not always respond to you, most do not. Between midnight to 5am are ideal times to find a missing indoor only cat. 3 AM is the best time to find a cat as this is the time they become most active and responsive. ***DO NOT leave litter box outside, it can attract predators and aggressive Tom cats.*** Place some recently worn socks or shirts outside your home, & especially around the point the cat exited the house from. Your scent will attract your kitty. Leave a way for your cat to get back inside 24/7: If you have a garage, place your recently worn clothing items or shoes near the garage door and crack the door enough for the cat to get back in. If your cat exited a window, leave the window open for your cat to get back inside. Because indoor only cats hide so well they are not as likely to be ed by a predator. Don't give up, it can take weeks to find a missing indoor only cat. Use a flashlight as late at night as you can to look in trees, under cars and in bushes. Try to look for the glow of the eyes. Calmly call your cat. Make mini flyers and hand them out to your neighbors. Most people don't pay attention to posted flyers. It's VERY important that you look for the cat as late at night as you can. If you have other cats, watch them. If they are spending a lot of time looking out a certain window, that’s a good indication the missing cat is in that area. Wildlife and motion activated cameras are also helpful. After several days, you may want to leave some wet food just inside of the door as well. Kibble tends to attract raccoons so it's not recommended. If you get a camera that is pointed at the door, you can see if your cat is coming to feed at night. One lady's indoor only cat was missing for 3 weeks and it was coming to eat the food but was too scared to come inside. She didn't know that it was coming back to the house until she got a camera. She had to get a trap to get the cat back inside. If you decide to trap, make sure that you do not leave the trap unattended as doing so makes the cat very vulnerable to being attacked by predators.
